November 2023

Ellie......

'Ellie' was rescued after being found by a kind member of the public lying in the rain by the side of a busy road.  She had all but given up.  She was half starved, freezing cold and weighed only 290gms.  She was given warmed sub cut fluids and housed in an incubator to get her warm.  A couple of hours later she was up on her feet and tucking into her dinner.  Now receiving treatment for a bad tummy and an overload of internal parasites.

Nettie......

'Nettie' was rescued from a garden in Hambleton nearly three weeks ago after she was seen to be active during the daytime and underweight for the time of year.  She has done really well, now weighing just over 600gms so she went for release into a safe release garden in Stanah yesterday evening while the weather was still mild.  Food is being left out for her and a nest box provided so she will be fine.

Tulip......

'Tulip' was admitted on 27th November along with a bunch of tulips from the finder (thank you!) after she was found out during the daytime in Thornton.  She's a golden oldie, icy cold and looks like she's been struggling for quite a while.  Currently toasty warm on a heat mat.  Always have a soft spot for the oldies knowing how they have struggled to survive over the time they have spent in the wild.  The recent cold spell of weather was obviously too much for her, so now she can have some home comforts - warmth and plenty of food.  Will most likely remain here over the winter months.
