Dinky......
And back to 2 hourly feeds again. 'Dinky' arrived at the beginning of October after being found all alone in a garden close to one of my release sites in Stanah. At around 4 weeks old and just 67gms he should still have been with his Mum. I didn't think anything had happened to his Mum as there hadn't been any more sightings of other babies since, so I think he had probably wandered out of the nest and couldn't find his way back. It's lucky Dinky was spotted as he was so tiny.
Baby Betty......
Here I was trying to get Baby Betty warm on my lap with a hot water bottle, as she was severely hypothermic and needed contact heat before being transferred into an incubator. She was only around 5 weeks old so should still be with her Mum not wandering around on her own before being picked up. This was one manic Monday, phone calls non stop and 6 more admitted when no more room.
Betty survived and went on to be released back into the wild several weeks later.
