Wobble......

Really did not think this juvenile female would be still here this morning, but here she is.  'Wobble' was rescued from on a road in Thornton yesterday after she was seen struggling to walk.  She was so cold she was wobbling from side to side.  Another of this Autumn's many juveniles who are finding it tough at the moment.  Have had so many coming in that have not made it.

Now receiving treatment for severe diarrohea and a very heavy worm burden.  Hopefully this one was rescued in the nick of time.

Millie......

This is little 'Millie' -  out during the day and wandering the streets of Fleetwood before she was rescued.  One of this years youngsters and underweight for the time of the year with a host of internal nasties.  Currently eating well and gaining weight.

Hawley......

This little 'Hawley' rescued from the Hawley Gardens Estate in Thornton on 27th Nov.  The residents on this estate are on board with providing feeding stations, water bowls and houses for the resident hedgehogs which is brilliant, and because everyone is so vigilant is the reason why she was quickly rescued after being seen out during the daytime.

For the first couple of days I really didn't think that she would survive.  She was kept warm and given replacement drip fluids, antibiotics and appropriate wormers as she had a host of internal nasties and severe diarrhoea.  She lost quite a lot of weight as nothing was eaten for three days.  But the meds kicked in and her condition improved dramatically.  She was up on her feet and tucking into Royal Canin wet food (thank you Jeff).  Currently on her 4th tin!

Her weight was 430g on admission, then worryingly went down to 380gms. Today (2nd Dec) her weight is up to 490gms so her outlook is looking much more positive.  It makes the job so worthwhile when you can turn one around from being so poorly.
