Harley......
This male arrived late one night with Andy. Harley was a regular visitor to his garden but he was spotted on camera with what looked like a possible back leg injury, so was brought to the Rescue late one night to check. In the morning he was put outside on the lawn to monitor his mobility. He was walking fine and could run at some speed, but did have a slight limp with a back leg. Closer inspection of his ankle joint revealed that he has had a possible broken ankle in the past which had now healed and this was causing him to limp. It wasn't hindering him in any way or causing him any problems and so after a thorough health check, there was nothing to keep him at the Rescue. He was released back into Andy's garden that evening.
Carrie......
This little female juvenile was found nesting in a plastic carrier bag in a garage. Very cold, hungry and dehydrated she would not have survived much longer had she not been found. Her condition has much improved and she continues to do well, but will remain at the Rescue Centre over the winter months and then will be released next Spring.
Edna......
Little Edna arrived on the doorstep from the Tarn Road area on 22nd October, freezing cold and wobbling in a cardboard box. She weighed just over 200gms so far too small to survive this time of the year. She was placed in an incubator and given warmed sub cut fluids. I had to be honest and gave her chances of survival as not good, but I was proved wrong. When I took a look at her a short time later I found her up on her feet and eating! Currently responding to treatment for internal parasites and has put on 100gms in weight in a week.
