Baby Dottie....

Little Dottie arrived late one evening after a motorist had spotted her lying on a grass verge at the side of a road in Wesham.  Concerned for her safety he stopped and picked her up.  At three weeks old she should still be with her Mum so how she got to where she was found is a mystery.  She will remain in our care until Spring next year.

Six babies!.....

These six babies at four weeks old and weighing around 140gms were rescued from a garden in Larkholme in mid September after the owners had acquired a new puppy and needed the garden to be secure to prevent it getting out.  The babies would not have been able to disperse from the garden when old enough and would have been trapped.  They were also rescued in case the dog caused any injury to them.  We rescued their Mum two days later as she was unwell but was fit for release several days later.

Update: 3rd Oct.  All babies doing well.  Two of the bigger ones are nearly ready to be transferred into an outside enclosure under the care of a foster carer.

Jake......

This juvenile male weighing 200gms was rescued from the Preesall area after being seen to be out during the daytime.  Jake was underweight with a few superficial injuries to his legs which required daily treatment.  He was also loaded with internal parasites which also required treatment, this being his main underlying health problem.  He continues to do well and hopefully we can get his weight up so he can be released back into the wild before the bad weather sets in.
