December saw more underweight hedgehogs being rescued but also with the unusually mild weather saw twelve rehabilitated hedgehogs being released into gardens where there was a nightly supplementary food supply and nesting facilities available.  This has freed up cages over the winter months for more rescued hedgehogs needing care.  This little guy we named Homer was rescued because at six weeks old he was too small to survive on his own over winter.
