January 2020

Noel..........

Hedgehogs are still being reported as active at night with the weather being relatively mild for January. Global warming seems to be having an effect on hedgehog hibernation. Several hedgehogs came in that were rescued after all being found with similar wounds, probably caused by the local fox population.  One little chap arrived on New Year's Day after being found wandering in a local cemetery.  Noel weighed just 300 gms so how he had been surviving over winter is a miracle. No physical injuries on him, just very underweight. Now tucked up nice and warm and with an excellent appetite it won't be long before he will be big enough to be released once the weather improves.
