Wally......

'Wally' was brought to us after being found nesting in a pile of wooden pallets which were in the process of being moved in a busy builders yard in Burnley.  His nest had been completely demolished and out he fell much to the amazement of the forklift driver. It wasn't advisable for him to stay there with so much heavy machinery around, so he was brought to us all that way by a kind hearted truck driver.  He is underweight so needs feeding up and then when the weather picks up he can be released somewhere more suitable.

Eunice......

'Eunice' was rescued from a garden in Cleveleys yesterday as her hibernation nest was discovered when the garden was being cleared.  It was decided to bring her out of the garden for her own safety, as heavy machinery was due to move in today.  Eunice was still in hibernation on admission but as you can see she is now wide awake after the disturbance.  She weighs just 400gms so maybe a good thing she was found.  If we have a prolonged spell of really cold weather, she may not have survived at that weight.
