Pumpkin......
Little 'Pumpkin' was rescued after she was spotted lying in the grass in a local garden. She weighed just 168gms and is only around six weeks old so really should still be with her Mum. She had extreme hypothermia so was tucked up warm in an incubator. A very poorly baby so not sure of the outcome for this one. Following the extended warm Autumn weather I fear there will be a lot more babies in trouble out there now the weather has turned colder.
Chris......
Admitted, a severely traumatised female after she was found tangled up in netting used to cover the top of a small recycling bin. The netting had to be cut off her as it was entangled round her legs and tightly around her neck. Not a brilliant photo as I'm trying to de-stress her. She is severely hypothermic so she has been transferred into a warm incubator. Please do not use these nets to cover your bin, they are death traps for wildlife. Over the years I have had several hedgehogs brought in tangled up in this particular type of netting. This hedgehog was probably just looking for food in the empty tin cans and in doing so, got entangled in the netting and couldn't free itself.
Reek......
This little male is 'Reek'. He was rescued after being found trying to cross a busy road in Penwortham. His spines were covered in either cat or dog poo, seems he has been rolling around in it. Three baths later in Hibiscrub he smells a bit sweeter now. Quite small, so will be here for a while to gain some weight.
