October 2019

October saw casualties coming in from outlying areas such as Lancaster and Wigan. One hedgehog was brought to us with a cable tie cutting deep into his body and had to be taken to the Vets to be gassed down to remove it. He went on to make a full recovery and was released into a safe garden at the end of October.
Juveniles were also being rescued who were underweight for the time of year, weighing less than 200gms and standing no chance of surviving over winter. Many particularly at this time of the year are rescued suffering from lungworm which can be deadly but is treatable.
